Meet The Team

At the heart of our forge is a small but passionate team of craftsmen who believe in the power of heat, hammer, and heritage. With diverse backgrounds in metalwork, design, and traditional blacksmithing, we come together to create high-quality, hand-forged pieces that blend function and artistry. Whether we’re shaping custom tools, crafting timeless ironwork, or teaching the next generation, we share one goal; to keep the fire of craftmanship alive and well. Rhys: Blacksmith

My journey into Blacksmithing began with a love for hands-on working. While at Plumpton college, I spent my time making replica tanks and armoured cars, learning from various Blacksmiths along the way. After completing my foundation degree at Plumpton and my BA at Brighton University, I ventured into the world of fabrication and welding. For the past two and a half years I’ve been at Orchard Blacksmith, working alongside a team who had previously met whilst studying at College. My favourite styles are heavy industrial with rivets and mechanical joinery.

Courtney: Office Administrator

Following Graduating University within Marketing and Promotion, I knew I wanted a role that would be diverse as well as based in a fast-paced and energetic environment. After working at Orchard Blacksmith for 10 months, it’s safe to say that no two days are the same, from dealing with enquiries, quotes, and stock to social media, website development, and light accounting duties, I have been able to develop and expand my skillset whilst also being able to witness the hard work and talent that goes into all of our projects.

Andy: Co-Director

Andy focuses on contemporary designs inspired by experience gained from established craftsmen, with a goal of creating unique and innovative pieces that push the boundaries of the traditional Blacksmith trade whilst also celebrating it’s heritage and artistry.

Ryan: Blacksmith

Growing up I spent hours making models out of wood and metal with my Grandad, and that’s where my love for hands-on working began. I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in metalwork or woodwork, but after discovering the Blacksmithing course at Plumpton, I spent four years learning everything I could about the craft. I’ve worked with Orchard Blacksmith for just over a year now with some of my favourite styles including Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
